Holiday Mini swap cards

Monday, September 6th, 2010

The last swap I took part in is done and returned so I can finally share my efforts. I almost bit off more than I could chew with this swap after signing up for three spots (11 card fronts for each) but I’m glad I made the effort as the cards I got in return are wonderful. The Funky Four set is just so much fun to play with, I can’t help myself. I even used it to make a little set of cards as a gift for my daughter’s teacher – but completely forgot to take a photo of them – grrrrrrr. I had even used some of my precious supply of Washington Apple DP on them…..

The toadstools are just so cute that it’s easy to neglect the other images so I’m making an effort to give them all equal ink time ;-)

Unbelievably gorgeous

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Ummmm….. excuse the corny post title but, as this post is dedicated to the fabulous “Just Believe” set from the new IB&C, I just couldn’t help myself! I have seen so many wonderful cards made using this set and I think it may be one of those sets where it would be pretty much impossible to make an ugly card. I’ve probably just jinxed myself haven’t I?

The first card was made for my hostess club – I’m still in love with Cherry Cobbler.

Stamp Sets – Just Believe.      Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler.     Inks – Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler (marker).                   Accessories - Elegant Lines Embossing folder, Modern Label punch, Antique Brads, Dimensionals.

I’m not sure it shows up well in the photo (I have got to sort out better lighting) but these are not just random red dots – I used the Cherry Cobbler marker to color the centers of the flowers embossed onto the cardstock using the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. It looks much prettier IRL.

Stamp Sets – Just Believe, Teeny Tiny Wishes.     Cardstock – Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla.    Inks – Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler.                        Accessories – Early Espresso taffeta ribbon, Dimensionals, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

I love the way heat embossed white looks on Crumb Cake cardstock and so used that on this card with some more Early Espresso thrown in.

Stamp Sets – Just Believe, Wonderfully Worn background stamp.     Cardstock – Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.   Inks - Early Espresso, Versamark.              Accessories – White Embossing powder, Antique Brads, Early Espresso taffeta ribbon.

The last card is a product of a last minute change of mind. I had planed to put some square panels down the side but they covered too much of the pretty DP so was trying to figure out if I should just leave it blank when I thought about trying the ovals. I really like the way they look so watch out for more of those coming soon ;-)   Notice yet more Early Espresso – Brown is absolutely the new black!

Stamp Sets – Just Believe.    Cardstock & DP – Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DP.   Inks – Early Espresso, Baja Breeze.               Accessories – Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Dimensionals.

Funky Fungus

No, I don’t have some nasty condition! I’m talking about adorable toadstools.

It’s been a while since I posted anything, partly because I was enjoying an all too brief vacation and partly because I have spent a chunk of the last few weeks working on some swap cards  (using goodies from the Holiday Mini -  available from September 1st)that I can’t share quite yet. Anyway, I do have a couple of things that I worked on before the swap frenzy using the Funky Four set from the new catalog.  This is such a fun little set and looks great with all the bright colors.

Stamp Sets – Funky Four     Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Real Red, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White.         Inks – Basic Black, assorted markers     Accessories – Word Window, Polka Dots embossing folder, Early Espresso taffeta ribbon, Brights brads.

Stamp Sets – Funky Four, Itty Bitty Bits, Playful Pieces, Fabulous Phrases.        Cardstock -  Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White.       Inks – Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive.   Accessories – Big Shot Scallop Circle #2, Texture Plate, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Circle punch, Large scallop circle punch, Itty Bitty shapes punch, Brights Buttons.

Pretty Butterflies

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

I’m finally catching a moment to post after my fabulous vacation. Can I just say how awesome Hershey Park and all the surrounding attractions are? My girls had a blast, especially as they got to share it with their rellies visiting from Scotland.

I just got back some amazing cards from a New Catalog swap over on SCS and wanted to share the card I swapped. Love this new DP, Sunny Garden, and it was the obvious choice to pair with the Butterfly Prints set. What makes this new set extra fun is that it matches the Butterfly punch! I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card. I don’t usually do a lot with the inside but decorating it was one of the rules for this swap and it really did make it extra special.

Stamp Sets – Butterfly Prints         Cardstock & DP – Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Vellum, Sunny Garden DP.    Inks - Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Versamark.     Accessories - 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Scallop Oval punch, Butterfly Punch, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Rhinestones, Flower Brad, Dimensionals.

Bots Forever!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

When I saw this set, Best Bots Forever, in the new IB&C it was a must have on the first order. I make a lot of cards for kiddos and this is a great 2-step set where you can mix and match robot parts. There is even a girlie bot!!

Stamp Sets – Best Bots Forever.    Cardstock & DP -Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Pacific Point, Blueberry Crisp DP.    Inks – Basic Black, Basic Grey, Not Quite Navy, Real Red (applied using a blender pen).      Accessories – Silver Brads, Small oval punch, Dimensionals, Square lattice embossing folder.

The card below was created when I realized that I had only cut enough DP strips for one card and I was too lazy to measure and cut a second set so used my Big Shot stars die instead – much faster!!

More baby cards

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I just finished up a few baby cards for a customer that I wanted to share. The first uses the new Baby Bundle set. I love that there are so many different images in the set and the new catalog has some wonderful samples for insipration (p78 and 79).

Stamp Sets – Baby Bundle, Short & Sweet.     Cardstock – Certainly Celery textured, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White.     Inks – Black Stazon, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Markers.          Accessories – Word label punch, Modern label punch, Ticket corner punch, Scallop Edge border punch, Dimensionals, Brads (So Saffron and Not Quite Navy).

The Nursery Necessities set is now retired but I still love the images and sentiments. The new Blushing Bride in color is wonderful for making baby cards, especially when paired with either Early Espresso or Chocolate Chip. Isn’t the new crochet trim fabulous too??

Stamp Sets – Nursery Necessities, Heard from the Heart, Confetti.         Cardstock - Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla.       Inks – Early Espresso, Blushing Bride.    Accessories – Large scallop circle punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, self-adhesive pearls, Early Espresso taffeta ribbon, Chantilly crochet trim.

I’ll be back later to share the Thank You cards I’m making for my daughter to give for the birthday gifts she received. I’ve used Sunny garden DP again. I really loved Cottage Wall DP but I think I may like the Sunny Garden DP even more – same patterns but using Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz – yummy!

Getting Girlie

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Sorry – I need to do a just little more excited babbling about the fabulous DP from the new catalog. Ask little girls to name their favorite colors and a large number will tell you pink and purple. Since I have two little girls, I was so excited to see the Lap of Luxury DP. Pretty in Pink and the rich new purple, Concord Crush (with some Basic Grey and Very Vanilla thrown in).
