Wow – loooong time, no post!
I knew it had been a while since I posted but that’s just ridiculous. My poor, neglected little stamping blog.
The lack of posts, and stamping in general, is because life has beena little nuts lately. We are getting ready to relocate to another state and so juggling work, home repairs, home buying/selling etc. has left very little fun time. When we finally get settled in out new place I’m going to take a day off and spend it stamping myself silly! Happily, this happens just after the release of the new catalog on June 1st and so it’s going to be even more fun.
Anyway, since I’m away from my family for a few weeks and bored witless in my hotel I thought I would take the time to finally post the few cards that I have made recently – well, the one’s I actually remembered to take photographs of…..
Sorry for the lack of the usual recipes. I don’t have my catalogs handy (that was a bit of an oversight while packing) but can provide details by e-mail if they are wanted.
The first card was made at a recent stamp-a-stack held by my upline. I love this embossing technique (cannot remember what it’s called for the life of me) and it looks great with the cupcake. This is one of my “go-to” sets and, sadly, it’s retiring at the end of May. I know that there will be some equally fabulous sets to fill that void though
Wish I could share…
I have spent the last several days putting together a calendar in My Digital Studio to send out to some members of our family. If I was a little more tech-savvy I’m sure I could share the file, but I’m not, so I’ll have to wait until the actual calendars are in my paws. I love the program and am getting much faster at pulling pages together. It is so much easier to use a program that contains the colors, images and embellishments that I am familiar with. I really need to try and make some hybrid cards – maybe I could make some post-holiday Thank You card?. Hmmm.
I am still working through the leftovers from my stamp-a-stack . Since I haven’t actually made a single Christmas card to send out, I really need to get a move on. Maybe the week after next when I’m back from France……..

Holiday Stamp-A-Stack samples
Amazingly, despite chronic procrastination, I am actually getting these posted on time (albeit at the 11th hour)!!!

First Christmas card of the year!
With many, many more to follow I’m sure! Again, this was made for the swap over on SCS. The Tree was watercolored and the ornaments are a mix of the new silver mini brads and rhinestones. Love the little jingle bells in the Holiday mini and had to use them – I can see myself using up many packs of these!!
Stamp Sets – Snow Much Fun, Petite Pairs
Cardstock & DP - Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Watercolor paper, Holly Berry Bouquet DP
Inks – Black Stazon, Real Red, Assorted classic inks applied with Aqua painter
Accessories – 1″ square punch, Postage Stamp punch, Scallop Trim Border punch, Ticket Corner punch, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Mini Brads, Adhesive Rhinestones, Dazzling Details, Vanilla Velvet ribbon, Mini Jingle Bells, Linen Thread, Dimensionals
Fabulous Fall
Fall is my second favorite season after winter (I know, I’m a little odd) and Stampin’ Up! always have some cool stuff in the Holiday Mini catalog to mark the season but this year has to be the best yet. The Spice Cake DP is just fabulous (perhaps because the colors include my new favorite, Pool Party??) and I love the Always Thankful set. I usually buy sets based only on the images but this set has a wonderful Charles Dickens quotation “There is always something for which to be thankful”. Isn’t that absolutely true? The images in the set are great for watercoloring – not something that I excel at but I swear SU! images can make any attempt look good!
Enough of the waffle – this card was the prototype for the Fall/Thanksgiving group of the demo swap on SCS that ended last week. Hope you like!
Stamp Sets – Always Thankful (Holiday Mini)
Cardstock & DP - Pool Party, Soft Suede, More Mustard (textured), Watercolor paper, Spice Cake DP.
Inks - Black Stazon, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, assorted classic ink pads applied using Aqua Painter
Accessories – Doily Triple Layer punch, Oval punch, Linen Thread, Victoria Crochet trim, Regals brads (More Mustard), Dimensionals, Sponge
Halloween – swapping again!
Another demonstrator swap I took part in over on SCS closed last week so I think it’s OK to post the cards I sent in now. I took part in the same swap last year and got some amazing cards back so I’m really looking forward to the returns this year!
This card was for the Halloween group and uses the fun new set Spooky Bingo Bits. You can use the set with the Bingo Card background stamp to make a fun game or use the images on their own for almost anything – love these versatile sets! I also love this Frightful Sight Halloween paper from the IB&C – particularly this bold, spotty pattern!
Stamp Sets – Spooky Bingo Bits
Cardstock & DP – Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White, Frightful Sight DP
Inks – Versamark, Basic Black
Accessories – Black, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi embossing powders, Circle punches, Black Scallop Dots ribbon, Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon, Neutrals brads, Dimensionals, Mini Library clip
Pretty Pastels
We started up our hostess club again earlier this month and I decided to dust off my much neglected pastels. The fabulous Sunflower background stamp from the IB&C has been calling my name since I ordered it in July and I think it’s the perfect stamp to use with pastels. Since the flower is so soft I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple and neutral but I just couldn’t resist using the scalloped ribbon which is just sooo pretty.
Stamp Sets - Sunflower Background, Kindness Matters
Cardstock – Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Inks – Chocolate Chip, Versamark, Assorted pastels (Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, More Mustard, Daffodil delight)
Accessories – Oval punch, Corner rounder punch, Vintage Brads, Chocolate Chip Scalloped ribbon, Sponge daubers.
Back again!
It seems like an eternity since I last posted – I just realized that it has been exactly a month. My sinuses are still feeling a bit off but at least I don’t have to “sleep” propped in a sitting position now!!
I’m starting to think about my fall/holiday stamp-a-stack so keep checking back for details on that. I just need to find a date in early November - I did October last year and it was a little odd making Christmas cards before Halloween!! The Holiday Mini Catalog is just fabulous this year so I’m having a lot of trouble narrowing down which projects I want to make. I’m trying very hard not to get carried away and have 15!
Anyway, while I’m trying to figure all that out, I have lots of stuff that I haven’t shared so I’ll try and catch up.
This was made for a WOW card swap on Splitcoaststampers for the new Holiday Mini Catalog. It’s a lot of work making 20 + multi-layer cards but well worth the effort when you get 20+ stunning cards back!
Stamp Sets – Out on a Limb (Holiday Mini), Spooky Bingo Bits (IB&C)
Cardstock – Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, So Saffron, Silver Glimmer paper
Inks – Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Accessories – Spider Web Embossing folder, Scallop Circle die, Circle punches, Black Embossing Powder, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Taffeta ribbon, Bitty punch, Bitty Buttons, Dimensionals, Platinum shimmer paint
Nothing new – sorry
Sorry for the lack of new stuff lately – I had sinus surgery just over a week ago and it’s been a lot more painful than I anticipated. Bending forward really smarts so making cards is a challenge. I’m itching to get some new stuff done so, hopefully, I’ll be back in my craft room soon.
